A thief was on the loose! A great robbery was taking place in my life.
This thief would forcibly enter my space, steal my JOY, snatch my PEACE and sneak away with my HOPE.
He wanted to permanently deprive me of my greatest possessions.
Why was the loss of these possessions so devastating to me? I was stumbling around in the dark. My private possessions had been riffled through, my security breached and my space invaded.
The thief was prowling through my emotions and blasting me with feelings of loneliness, worry, grief, and gloominess. I had become a victim traumatized by negative emotions triggering self-defeating thought patterns.
“But know this, if the good man of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to have been broken up, but would have been ready.” [JS—M 1:47]
I caught this master thief, Satan, manipulating my emotions through vicious prowling that he has perfected. He knows how to create worry, doubt, depression, lust, hatred, anger, emptiness, loneliness and a desire to retreat from life’s challenges. No such feelings come from God.
I have found sufficient evidence to convict him and send this crook away for good using a burglar proof tool called the “TRUTH TOOL”.
My security system, the “TRUTH TOOL”, is highly effective in Terminating the lies, Restoring the truth, Uniting myself with God and using THis weapon (my body) to cart him off to jail.
Here’s how the acronym works:
First, Terminate the lie.
What is the lie in your head? Write it down.
Call it what it is, “A LIE.”
Second, Restore the Truth
What would it sound like if God were speaking to you? Turn the lie around to the exact opposite. See yourself through God’s eyes.
Third, Unite with God.
Say something that involves redeeming light that makes you amazing. “I am a son or daughter of the living God!”
Fourth, THis is my weapon.
Stick it to him (Satan)! Get up and do something with your body that will cause him pain, a service or powerful act that makes him sorry he showed up to mess with you.
“Man is that he might have JOY.” (2 Nephi 2:25)
I believe that we exist to feel joy.
I believe we can challenge the negative emotions as lies, not facts, and connect to our source of power and strength, Jesus Christ.
